Good news today! Being home in the UK for Christmas and New Year gave me the opportunity to stop by Park Physiotherapy in my home town of Bedford, for an appointment with the wonderful Jennifer-Ann Gibbons.
Despite being generally pleased with the progress my ankle seemed to be making, I was nevertheless keen for a respected professional opinion. After all, the last thing I wanted was to turn a nasty sprain into a life-long recurring injury.
After a characteristically thorough and careful examination, Jennifer-Ann pronounced that in her opinion (and as long as I was careful) the ankle injury needn’t be a reason to call off the show.
She recommended some work to improve my balance and some exercises to correct my tendency to overpronate slightly. More on these later…
I’ll obviously be paying close attention to how my ankle responds to the training, but it’s good to know that I’m not going to be doing any long-term damage if I start to train on it.
Looks like we’re good to go! Let the training commence!
